Once you start writing them down, dreams are just that: dreams. These dreams become your goals. – Anonymous

It’s all about attitude. A dream is, by definition, something beyond reach. A goal is something you work towards and plan for. You have already taken the first step towards making your dreams come true by treating them as your goals.

1. Start small

Start by taking the first step to achieving your dreams. Every day does something. Spending a lot of money on expensive instruments and studio equipment is not a good idea. Do not waste your time trying to find a gig at the most prestigious venue in your area. It would be best if you started with the things that matter and feel confident in handling them. Take the time to master your craft and learn the tricks of the trade.

2. Buy Cheap

If you are in too much debt, you immediately limit your options. Start saving as soon as you can so you have some cushion if you need to be away from work or your car breaks down. Do not rush to buy every new gadget you see. Only buy stuff that you need. Your daily expenses should be kept in check. Spend less, and you will save money. This will allow you to do more of what you love.

3. Plan Regularly

Okay, you’ve used the toilet in the corner several times. Perhaps it’s time for you to move on. Let’s take a step back, and see where we are heading. It can be broken down into monthly, quarterly, and yearly goals. You will need to decide what you want to do and then schedule them to complete them. A good plan will help you make each step easier. This will help you to know what your next steps should be. You will be able to see what is valuable and what is not. Stick to your budget.

4. Be friends

The best connections are the most valuable. If no one notices your genius, it will be lost. The myth of the lonely genius, however, is a myth. Successful people are always well connected. It’s easier than ever to make connections. Connect with bloggers, musicians, friends, and other random people. These connections are not meant to be a source of income. People will remember you if you have inspiring conversations. People will be more than happy to help you.

5. Make a commitment

If you aren’t committed to your dream, it won’t come true. You will fail at everything possible. You will lose your faith. You will be a suck. You’ll run out of money. You’ll play empty venues. You’ll be too busy. You’ll have to keep your head down and continue. You will soon find that the goal you set is no longer achievable if you don’t commit.
