Sunshine On A Rainy Day

Sunshine On A Rainy Day

Is blinding. Literally. Have you ever driven along the road with the sun blasting off the wet tarmac, windows still not completely de-misted, visor down, squinting like mad because you can’t find your sunglasses? You can’t find them because your husband has ‘tidied’ the car, and by tidy he means put your glasses away and kept his out, for the 1 or 2 days a week he might drive Hm Thanks for that tidying Mr. Anyway. Those said glasses are now a bit battered. They’re aviator style, which are my favourite kind, but they’re old, and even though we’re in the middle of winter (it is meant to be winter isn’t it?) sunglasses are still vital. Even more so when I’m knackered/not had time for eye make up/can’t be bothered! I’m quite fussy when it comes to glasses, I love looking online for styles, like SCLO but I always need to try them on to see if they suit me. I’ll be honest, I’ve got no idea if my face shape is round, heart or oval. It depends on how I’m wearing my hair, but the general consensus is that huge, bug eyes don’t suit me. I wish they did, because I’d have hundreds of different styles, instead of sticking to the one pair, one style.

I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve sat on a pair after leaving them on the seat of the car, filled my handbag to burst and had the glasses at the bottom, lost a pair somewhere out there, or even lost one of the arms while camping. I don’t take care of my sunglasses, which is why I tend to avoid the mega bucks, designer kinds. I love them, obviously, but I can’t bring myself to spend £400 on something that I know I have a reputation for breaking. I may as well just hand over the money and leave the shop empty handed! Up to £100 ish is ok (she says) and you can get so many decent pairs in that price bracket! Unless you need prescription glasses of course. Then you’ve got to splash the cash See how glasses can make a look? So, with that in mind I will be hitting the shops this weekend to try on some new glasses. I might try and brave a different style (the whole, 12 new things is coming along well!) and who knows, I might not break the new ones for at least, oh, a month. I’ve seen some Michael  Kors ones that sing  try me and I love these Chopard ones, both a bit different from the usual style but not too out there. Someone needs to give a standard  Wear this style if you list.
