Q: I'm not looking for a gig anymore. Should I delete my profile and remove my resumes? Top
A: Profile: If you’re a paying member who is not seeking a gig, you may simply want to change your subscription type. Here’s why: If you choose to delete your profile, all of your data will be lost and cannot be recovered. Contact us if you need further assistance.

Resume: If you delete your resume, all of your data will be lost and cannot be recovered. Instead, you can make your resume private (employers won't see it). Go to edit your resume, scroll toward the bottom of the resume, and find the privacy/visibility options.

Q: Why should I complete my profile? Top
A: A completed profile will rank you higher in our search results, which maximizes your opportunity to be found by employers. Also, a completed profile will allow you to view Suggested Gigs based on your interests. Click here to edit your profile.

Q: Can I use my Gig Seeker email and password for my Employer account? Top
A: No. These are two separate accounts, and our system requires a unique email for each account.

Q: Does my account expire? Top
A: No, your ThatsMyGig.com account will not expire. We reserve the option to deactivate or delete profiles and listings to maintain an accurate site. If your account has been deleted or deactivated, you may contact us for more information.

Q: How do I upload a YouTube video? Top
A:Our YouTube uploader will only allow YouTube videos. YouTube channels are not able to be loaded into the YouTube feature. YouTube playlists are not able to be loaded into the feature. Also, only the desktop link format will work: e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXXXXXXXXXX If you are using a mobile device and are having troubles, please attempt to upload the video via a desktop or laptop computer.

Q: How do I create and post a resume on ThatsMyGig.com? Top
A: Creating a resume is simple, and it is vital. Submitting your resume is how you apply for a gig. There are two ways you can create a resume:

Using ThatsMyGig.com’s resume generator is the quickest and most effective way to get hired. Only ThatsMyGig.com resumes are searchable. Upload my resume
This option allows you to upload your existing resume during the application process. NOTE: An uploaded resume will not be searchable by employers, will rank your profile lower in the search results, and will make you overall less visible to employers. NOTE: When you upload a resume on ThatsMyGig.com, you'll have the option of hiding your resume from specific employers.

Q: How do I add more information to my resume? Top
A: After building your resume, you may edit any information. Go to your Dashboard, click on the ‘My Resumes’ icon, then select the ‘edit’ link on the specific resume which you would like to edit. Click here to go to your ‘My Resumes’ page.

Q: How can I increase my resume views and visibility? Top
A: The best way to increase your resume views is to set your resume status to visible. This will make your resume visible to all employers and gig seekers who conduct resume searches. If your resume is visible and you still feel your views are low, try including more relevant keywords for your target gig. When employers search our resume database, they enter keywords that match the requirements needed for a gig. For keyword ideas, consider viewing gig titles and descriptions to see what words employers are using in their gig listings.

Q: What happens when I delete a resume? Top
A: If you delete a resume, the resume will be permanently deleted and all data will be un-recoverable. If you delete a resume that was searchable on ThatsMyGig.com or which you submitted during the application process, then employers, recruiters, and anyone who has accessed to the ThatsMyGig.com resume database, or has paid to obtain a copy of that database, as well as parties who have otherwise gained access, may have retained a copy of your resume in their own files or databases. ThatsMyGig.com isn’t responsible for the retention, use, or privacy of resumes in these instances.

Q: How can I confirm that my resume and cover letter have been submitted? Top

Q: How can I email a copy of a gig posting to a friend? Top
A: When viewing a gig listing, find the ‘Apply’ button. Look to the right, and you will find several options, including the option to ‘Tell a Friend’. Fill out the form, and an email will be sent to your friend.

Q: Where can I find gig’s the salary information? Top
A: Not all employers include salary information with their gig postings. When the salary is included, you can view that information at the top of the gig listing page. Often, employers will choose to use these common abbreviations:

A: ThatsMyGig.com strives to provide the safest possible environment for you to search and apply for gigs. Be careful of email spoofs and phishing.

How to prevent being scammed by fraudulent email:

Disregard any and all emails that offer employment opportunities involving money transfers.
Verify the accuracy and ownership of the email, company, and gig opportunity.
If the email in question contains a link, don’t use it. Go the employer’s website using another method, such as a web search.
If the email includes a gig opportunity, the gig may also be listed on the employer’s website. Contact the company directly, using its publicly listed phone number, if available.
Research the employer by conducting a web search or by using the Better Business Bureau.
Don’t share personal information unless you are confident the other party is who they claim to be. ThatsMyGig.com will never ask for this information and should NOT appear anywhere on your public profile or resumes:
Social Security number
Driver license number
Bank account information
Credit card information
Passwords

Protect yourself from employment-opportunity fraud. Look for these warning signs:
Email-only communication (lack of communication mediums available to contact the employer).
Broken English, spelling mistakes, or grammar errors
Requests for bank account information or Social Security number
Management of any monetary transactions
Compensation based on using funds you withdrew from a banking account

Q: Can I report a questionable gig posting? Top
A: Yes, you can and we encourage you to report any questionable gig posting. When viewing the gig listing, click the link ‘flag this gig’ in the upper right corner of the listing information. Or, you can simply contact us with the url for the gig posting.

Apply

Q: How does the application process work on ThatsMyGig.com? Top
A: When you apply to a gig, the employers receives your resume and cover letter (if you included one) via email and also within their ‘Application Tracking’ folders on ThatsMyGig.com. You may receive an email from the employer confirming the receipt of your application. NOTE: Some employers may not respond immediately to your resume submission. Often, a lack of response can substantiate a lack of interest from the employer. ThatsMyGig.com has no influence or control regarding the hiring decision or an employer’s decision to respond to your application.

After you apply to a gig, you can view the status of your submitted application at any time. “Viewed“ means that the employer has opened your application. “Shortlisted” means that the employer shows great interest in you. “Approved” means that the employer plans to contact you for an audition or to hire immediately. To navigate to this page yourself, go to your Dashboard, and click on the ‘My Applications’ icon.

NOTE: Some employers implement a redirect link onto the ‘Apply’ button to take you directly to their company website. Many employers may choose not to take any action using our site buttons, but instead will choose to contact gig seekers directly.

Q: Why didn't the employer respond to my application? Top
A: Each company has it’s own method for managing it’s human resourcing. Smaller companies may send a personal response; larger companies may send automated messages. Some companies don’t acknowledge receiving your resume unless they want to initiate the interview or audition process.

Q: How can I track the gigs I've applied to? Top
